Chapter 42: Remnants of Peace
Rei has been at Disney Castle recovering from her wounds from her fight with Rin. She decides to take a trip with Knox to the simulated Twilight Town, promising the Queen that she'll return soon. When she enters the simulation, she takes note of the missing pieces and frozen time. The program has been slowly deteriorating since DiZ had left it, so she wants to try and collect as much from it as she can. She arrives at Roxas' home, and she packs all of his belongings in her bag. As she's cleaning out, she finds an old picture of him and the gang under his pillow.
She makes one last stop at the Clock Tower, hoping to see this sunset one last time. But as they approach the station, Knox begins to act strangely, like he doesn't have control over his body. He walks ahead of her, and transforms into a hooded figure. Rei draw her sword against him, demanding to know what he did to Knox. The figure hesitates, but draws their own weapons when Rei attacks: the Oblivion and Oathkeeper Keyblades.
Chapter 43: Remember Me?
Rei fights the hooded figure. His attacks are strong and they're evenly matched. However, there's a sense of playfulness in his attacks that Rei can't understand.
The figure takes her hand, forcing Rei to recall her blade before she gets disarmed. However, instead of continuing to attack, they begin dancing with her, immensely confusing Rei. He laughs and asks her about her confusion. She was the one who taught him how to dance after all. At this, Rei suddenly realizes who the person is under the hood. Embarrassed, she scolds him for not telling her sooner. Roxas tells her that she should try talking to people before attacking them. Plus, he was curious to see how she'd fight. They hug, and Rei tells him how happy she is to see him and how much she misses him. Roxas does the same and talks about how he wishes they could go back living their lives in Twilight Town. Roxas is disappears and Knox takes his place, confused. Rei apologizes to him, but asks if he could hold him just a bit longer.
Chapter 44: The Secrets of the Journal
Rei and Knox are attending the King, Donald, and Goofy as they try to discover the secrets of Jiminy's Journal. Data Sora had already gone through his initial journey that fixed the journal's data, but now all of his memories are gone. The King discusses with Data Riku what to do next. During this time, Goofy and Donald are reminiscing about their journey with Sora. Once learning they had met in Traverse Town, Rei begins to wonder what her life would've been like if she had met Sora. She realizes that she's still jealous of him. She's even to surprised to see the King, Donald, and Goofy do so much for this Data version of Sora. Rei concludes that it'd be a similar case for her when it comes to Roxas. She would do anything for him.
Suddenly there's static on the screen, and they lose visual on Data Sora. Data Riku tells them that he should still be able to import Mickey. As they're getting ready, Rei is the only one paying attention to the screen. She sees Sora talking to someone with two keyblades. Realizing who it is, she sees him smile as he disappears.
Chapter 45: Facing Her Fears
Maleficent manages to infiltrate Disney Castle, but Rei stands between her and Queen Minnie. Maleficent tries her old tricks, trying to get into Rei's head. Rei admits to her fears, but she no longer wants to run from it. She has the strength to face her now, and she won't let her lay a hand on her Queen. Rei begins fighting Maleficent, and eventually overpowers her. With Maleficent on the ground, she tells her to stand down. Maleficent tells her to destroy her, but when Rei hesitates, Maleficent mocks her for her weakness.
Rei admits that she still cares about her, and that this is her last chance to let them help her. Maleficent tells her that she has too much faith in people, and her raven swoops down and attacks her, managing to separate her blade from her hand. Pete manages to sneak up on the Queen and kidnaps her, taking her ring so she can't perform any magic. Maleficent sinks into the ground and appears next to Pete, laughing at Rei's failure. Mickey, Donald, and Goofy barge into the Throne Room. As Donald and Goofy help Rei up, they find themselves at a standstill, Pete threatening to hurt the Queen if they move. Suddenly a portal opens up and two chakrams fly out, giving the Queen the chance to escape.
Chapter 46: Joining the Fight
Lea and Rei reunite, happy to see each other. She invites him to her room so she can give him something, and she pulls out his old bandana. Lea learns that she had collected all the other nobodies' old belongings. She tells him that they deserve to be remembered, even if they were nobodies.
Rei leaves Knox to watch over the castle while she joins Lea and returns to Yen Sid's Tower with Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. There, they learn about the Mark of Mastery. To Rei's surprise, Lea asks Yen Sid if he could become a keyblade master as well. Yen Sid agrees and passes the power down to him. However, in order to be prepared for the upcoming fight in time, he sends both Rei and Lea to go train with Merlin and the Fairies at the Mirage Arena.
